Hi Alumni,

Here's what's happening at the Isaacs Center for YOU!

Scholarship Workshops

Scholarship workshops take place throughout the month. If a workshop listed doesn't work for you, let me know and we can have a one-on-one session during a mutually fitting time. See the bottom of the home page for details.

Advance and Earn

If you are looking to earn money while finish high school or begin a career in Culinary Arts, check out the flyer below! We are enrolling 17-24 year olds in Advance and Earn, a new program designed to help you get ahead while also removing some weight off your shoulders.

  • Our Pre-HSE program is designed to help get students jumpstart their learning so they are better prepared for the HSE program and the TASC exam. Participants enrolled receive a weekly stipend as long as they maintain the attendance requirement.

  • HSE students receive academic instruction to prepare them for the TASC exam as well as a paid internship placement as long as they maintain the attendance requirement.

  • Finally, the program offers Advanced Training for youth looking to get into a career in Culinary Arts. Our program offers a 5 week training to prepare participants for a job in a restaurant. All participants receive a paid internship and job placement assistance.Advanced students may be placed in a full-time job pending their internship performance. We've partnered with The Chef Agency, who will be helping us place participants in jobs all over NYC!

Census Job Opportunity

Did you know that the Isaacs Center has partnered up with the New York City Census for 2020 and we are currently hiring for two positions to help us spread the word about it! Reach out to me if you're interested in reading the full descriptions! (jsharrock@isaacscenter.org).

Community Manager (Permanent, Full-Time)

The Community Engagement Manager is focused on increasing the number of constituents, community members, and other stakeholders who are positively engaged in the Isaacs Center programs and activities. For the first 6 months, the primary focus of this position is the management of the Isaacs Center’s involvement in the NYC Census 2020.

Outreach Worker(Temporary, Part-Time)

As the Outreach Worker, you will motivate and inspire our internal and external partners and community members in our hard to count neighborhoods on the importance of a full census count. You will assist with the design and implementation of creative ways to use community connections and technology to increase Census 2020 participation.
