The "best" place to visit after Covid-19 is a matter of personal preference. That's because where you go is determined by your location and interests. The vast majority of vacation excursions this summer will be taken by vehicle or RV. Even though the epidemic looks to be diminishing, many are still anxious about their safety. That means they choose locations that are close by but provide enough of social distance.
-For example, if you wanted to visit a theme park, I would suggest Orlando's attractions, particularly Walt Disney World. Temperature checks and outside mask restrictions have been implemented to ensure the safety of visitors to its parks and hotels. (After new CDC guidelines, it deleted both this month.) It's the classic theme park adventure. The crowds will thin out and costs will drop if you wait until after Labor Day. Disney isn't the only attraction in Orlando. There's plenty of fantastic shopping and dining options in neighboring Winter Park, as well as in Orlando's Milk District, which is one of my favorite areas to visit while I'm in town. You probably had no idea Orlando had its own arts area.
- Another good way to choose a vacation spot is to think locally. If you live in the New York City region, for example, there's no need to fly for a holiday. Ithaca, New York, in upstate New York, may be the finest location to visit. With abundance of well-appointed spas, outdoor summer theatre, public mural walking tours, and interesting little museums, it's the cultural and wellness heart of the Finger Lakes area.
- The typical culprits are suspicious this year when it comes to foreign travel. "There are so many unknowns in Italy, France, and Germany right now," says Andrew Steinberg, an Ovation Travel Group travel expert. "When our clients arrive at a place, they want to know that restaurants, cultural events, and other areas of interest are open and ready to go. Some locations are open and ready for guests from the United States. This summer, foreign visitors are flocking to the Caribbean and Mexico. Because it's the off-season, prices are lower, which is a plus for some families.
-There are more than the typical suspects when it comes to Caribbean islands. Consider Saba in the Lesser Antilles, a Dutch Caribbean island. More than 85% of the population has received vaccinations. Outdoor sports and ecotourism are popular on the island, and hiking and scuba diving are popular. Saba is one of the best and safest destinations for those looking to explore and rejuvenate after the past year of quarantining, according to Saba commissioner Bruce Zagers. “With nearly the entire population vaccinated and our emphasis on enjoying the natural beauty, Saba is one of the best and safest destinations for those looking to explore and rejuvenate after the past year of quarantining,” says Saba commissioner Bruce Zagers.
-The greatest places to visit after Covid-19 enable you to stay close to home while while being secure. A domestic vacation gives lots of opportunity to familiarize yourself with your own nation if you live in the United States. If you're planning a trip overseas, this may be the year to visit the Caribbean, Mexico, or—once it reopens—Canada.
