Cancer is a very nasty disease that has been killing a lot of people in the world. Most people don’t know ways to prevent it which can cause the disease getting worse for one’s health. Here are some cancer prevention tips:
1. Eat plenty of anti-inflammatory foods.
Inflammation is a key factor in the development and progression of cancer, as well as a variety of other chronic illnesses. To assist assure a bountiful supply of anti-inflammatory phytonutrients, antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals that will help reduce the chance of getting cancer, aim to consume 4-5 cups of brightly colored veggies and 2 servings of whole fruit daily (no fruit juice!- you'll see why in a minute).
Foods that INCREASE Inflammation Include:
Processed meats
Sugar
Refined Oils
Processed Carbohydrates
Foods that DECREASE Inflammation Include:
Brightly colored fruits and vegetables
Dark, leafy greens
Certain spices like turmeric, ginger and garlic
Omega-3 fats
and many more
2. Avoid Processed foods: Processed foods are high in added sugars, processed oils, and carbs, all of which can cause inflammation and, as a result, a higher risk of cancer. These meals are also typically high in calories and low in nutrients, causing you to gain weight while leaving little room for beneficial, cancer-fighting foods.
3. Reduce Intake of Added Sugars: By eliminating processed foods, you'll be decreasing your consumption of Added Sugars by default. Sugar nourishes all of our cells, including cancer cells, but it does not directly fuel cancer. Instead, it's the indirect consequences of too much sugar (more weight and belly fat, elevated insulin levels and associated growth hormones, and so on) that put you at risk for cancer.
4. Avoid Alcohol Intake
Alcohol raises the risk of cancer in the following ways:
The conversion of ethanol to acetaldehyde (a toxic chemical and probable carcinogen)
Reactive oxygen species (ROS) are produced, which can oxidize DNA, proteins, and lipids, causing damage.
The body's capacity to break down and absorb a number of nutrients linked to cancer prevention is being harmed (vitamin A, folate, vitamin D, carotenoids, etc.).
If you must drink alcohol, do it in moderation. For women, this implies no more than one drink per day, and for males, no more than two drinks per day. A serving equals 5 ounces of wine, 1.5 ounces of liquor, or 12 ounces of beer.
